DR. VERONICA RUELAS:
Veronica was born and raised in New York City. She graduated from Dominican College, cum laude, with a dual major in Biology and Psychology and then attended SUNY College of Optometry in Manhattan and completed her training at the top of her clinical class. After graduation, she worked as the Clinical Director for Vista Alliance and closely with the FDA on new innovative refractive surgery procedures, not yet approved in the United States. She has published and presented her findings to ophthalmologists around the world. She currently lives in Union Square, Manhattan and has her own practice in Battery Park City, called ThirdEyeChic Optometry (www.thirdeyechic.com).
Over the last 7 years, Veronica shifted her focus of practice to helping the needy. During this time, she completed her yoga teacher training and advanced teacher training programs, as well as, advanced scriptural, philosophical, psychological, and meditation curriculums.
Needing to raise funds for her eye clinic missions, Third Eye Vision Camps, Veronica started a company called AshramChic (www.ashramchic.com), which imports yoga and meditation accessories while also helping support local charities from diverse regions in India. She also worked with the county of Uttrakashi and neighboring Dehradun, India to help charter their first Rotary Club called Saumya Kashi. She has traveled numerous times to Peru, India and Brasil conducting free eye clinics and various volunteer missions.

Gina Gabriele, SVP of Business Development, currently heads up the sales and marketing efforts in New York City for Trion, an employee benefits consulting firm based outside of Philadelphia. Gina has spent 20 years in the benefits consulting business as relationship manager and business development professional working with C-level executives. She left the business for four years to lead national sales effort for a start-up in the financial services technology space. Gina’s experience includes cultivating trusted relationships, leading account management teams, working collaboratively with internal teams to generate new ideas and identify strategies to accomplish client goals and leveraging internal and external relationships to create new business opportunities. Gina graduated from Gettysburg College with a BA in English Literature and holds her yoga teacher certification from Yoga Tree in San Francisco.
Gina has been committed to many philanthropic endeavors over the last 20 years, including serving as President of her family’s private foundation which was established in 1997 and whose mission it is to provide financial support to community-based organizations who are non-partisan and who provide educational or other programs to improve quality of life.
